On the planet Starling wRen defies her heritage so she can be with VeIper, an outcast bent on freeing his species from ethnic cleansing. Mong, a slayer, quells their ambition as he plots the subjugation of wRen and the death of VeIper.
Her Shell Breech
On the morn of the third rain of this brooding season, in the Aviary of the Mew of S’wa in its central Nestuary, all waited. Mong of the Bundestag of Goos, brother to Mont and Mon attended the hatching of Charon’s biddy. The chickalas to be unshelled was of another stalker of the Kin, one Mong admired. His reasons for being at the shell breech were apparent. The mother, the grandest of beauty, possessed the draw and allure of a rare and stellar sexual being, all anticipated that her broodette would hold similar traits; all expected a female for the twitter of egg suggested it. If female, when she turned adult, he planned to claim rights to her, rights that included any and all pleasures he might take. All expected it and understood.
“Welcome,” Murd said as each of the exaltation of witnesses entered the Nestuary, they resembling the anxious anticipation of larks, this gabble hustling with understood duty. The pre-hatchlings were always maneuvered to pillowed pedestals of moss and clover, idyllic images so celebrated. The slightest hint of cinnamon was apparent, yes, pleasant to all. Crystals were hung as suncatchers and provided rainbows throughout the area. However, this event, this day held uniqueness for there was but one broodette to be birthed.
Their combined accomplishments include book publications in print and/or electronic versions of twenty-four titles, fifteen romance specific, ten manuscripts pending, EPPIE finalist for three books, Cecil Whig award, Hob-Nob Reader's Choice Award, written over 500 shorts with numerous published in both nationwide and small press magazines, articles published in various local, city and statewide newspapers, including four as a Guest Columnist in addition to trade articles. Both are members of various writing groups.
